3 Vintage Gullah Sweetgrass Baskets, comprising a 13 3/4 in. sweetgrass basket with handwritten label 'Old Caesar Hilton Head Westberry Collection', a 14 1/4 in. sweetgrass basket with handwritten label 'Purchased from Porter Carswell 1982, … 202 Gwinnet St. …. By Old Caesar', and a 18 in. sweetgrass rice fanner basket with typed 'Francis McNairy Antiques, Savannah' label. Caesar Johnson known as Old Caesar was boen in 1872 and was a resident of Hilton Head Island, SC. The Savannah News sis an article on him July 17, 1960 titled 'The Last of the Old Tome Basket Makers.'Measurements: Height: of largest 2 1/2 in. x Width: 18 in.
