Property from a Private Collector, Philadelphia and Hilton Head Island
Description:
Two Portrait Miniatures of Girls and Opaltype Portrait, Early 20th century, watercolor on ivory, comprising a portrait miniature by Morgan Bly (1876 - 1935) signed 'M.H. Bly' left side, depicting a young girl with cat in a gilt-metal frame (by sight:4 1/8 in. x 3 1/8 in.), and a portrait miniature of a young girl with short blond hair against a pale blue/green background, illegibly signed lower right in an oval gilt-metal pendant frame with collectors labels on verso (by sight: 2 7/8 in. x 2 3/8 in.). Together with an opaltype photo miniature signed Bachrach lower edge and inscribed '…2024-A' on back, depicting a young girl in pink dress with blue feather fan in a gilt-metal frame (by sight: 3 1/4 in. x 2 1/2 in.).

INTERSTATE SALE
This item meets the criteria to be an ESA (Endangered Species Act) Antique:
A. It is 100 years old or older;
B. It is composed in part or whole of any endangered species or threatened species listed under section 1533 of the Act;
C. It has not been repaired or modified with any part of any such species on or after December 28, 1973; and
*D. It entered at a port designated for the import of ESA antiques
*Under Director’s Order No. 210, as a matter of enforcement discretion, items imported prior to September 22, 1982, and items created in the United States and never imported must comply with elements A, B, and C above, but not element D.
This lot is has documentation that meets federal requirements for an interstate sale including; either a CITES pre-Convention certificate, a dateable photograph, a dated letter, or other documentation referring to the item or other evidence.
Guidance provided by the FWS located in appendix 1 of the Director’s Order 210 establishes the criteria for the antiques exemption for the prohibitions of the ESA, the criteria used for this lot meets the requirements of proof listed in Director’s Order 210, appendix 1, sections 5, 6, and 7.Measurements: Height: of largest frame 4 5/8 in. x Width: 3 5/8 in.

Overall good condition, Morgan Bly miniature with two 1 in. hairline cracks from top edge of portrait plaque and chips to corners of glass on frame, illegibly signed miniature with some surface dirt between glass, opaltype portrait with chips to corners of glass portrait panel, light wear and dings to frames, not viewed out of frames. - Shipping Info
