c. 1862 Civil War Period, Patriotic Advertising Broadside, "Patriotic Songs, Distributed in Heck's Champion Prize Package", Chicago, IL., Fine.
Civil War printed Advertising Broadside measuring about 12.25" x 17.5", produced by Charles Heck for "Patriotic Songs Distributed in Heck's Champion Prize Packages. Chicago, IL." Some edge fold splits, wrinkles, edge chips from posting and wear. Broadside was issued in the midst of the Civil War, employing patriotism to appeal to the masses. Produced by Charles Heck, a Chicago manufacturer and dealer in Union goods, jewelry, maps, and stationery. This Broadside lists 17 Patriotic songs along with the words for each song in 4 columns. Its list includes: The Star Spangled Banner, We Stand Here United, Star of Columbia, Columbia! Arise to Glory, The Flag of Our Union, Hail Columbia!, Red White and Blue, Inauguration, March to the Battle Field, Our Union Right or Wrong, America, Long Live America, The Sword of Bunker Hill, The American Flag, Our Flag is There, Washington's Grave, My own Native Land. All being available for sale. Amazing that it was retained by someone and is now available to Civil War collectors.
