1780 British Exportation TRADE BILL to North America
1780-Dated American Revolutionary War Era, Printed Act of Parliament, entitled "A BILL TO Allow the Exportation of Provisions, Good, Wares, and Merchandize, from Great Britain to certain Towns, Ports, or Places, in North America, which are, or may be, under the Protection of His Majesty's Arms; and from such Town, Ports or Places to Great Britain, and other Parts of His Majesty's Dominions.", Choice Very Fine.
This is an original, firsthand historical Printed Document, measuring 13" x 10" with 6 pages held loosely together with thread, there is a woodcut device to first page. The margins are a little aged and there is the odd handling marks in places. Originally presented folded, as the title is printed to rear page and the outer page edges are a bit rough with the odd small nick, overall being in very reasonable and clean condition. It has full details of the changing trade relationship during the American Revolution, and the permitted vessels, ports and penalties. It reads, in part:
"Whereas by an Act of Parliament... An Act to prohibit all trade and Intercourse with the Colonies of New Hampshire, Massachusetts's Bay, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pensylvania, and three Lower Counties on Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia, during the Continuance of the present Rebellion within the said Colonies respectively; for repealing an Act... to discontinue the Landing... shipping of goods, Wares... within harbour of Boston"
