c. 1927 Artist Signed Limited Edition Etching on Paper of Abraham Lincoln, Signed, "Schneider" (Otto J. Schneider) in pencil, after a Statue of Lincoln in Chicago, IL. created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, Framed, Choice Crisp Near Mint.
Otto J. Schneider (Illinois, 1875-1946) Artist Signed Limited Edition Etching printed on paper Signed, depicting the "Abraham Lincoln: The Man", Statue in Lincoln Park in Chicago, IL by Augustus Saint-Gaudens (New York/New Hampshire/Massachusetts/France, 1848-1907). Signed "Schneider" in pencil at lower right. Published by the Chicago Society of Etchers Club, Chicago, 1927. Matted and housed under glass in a decorative, black wooden frame with gilt silver trim. The plate measures 11-1/2" x 6-3/8" (by sight), matted and framed to an overall size of 18-7/8" high x 12-5/8" wide. The mat shows hand-drawn outlines; the print is in choice condition. Saint-Gaudens' depiction of Lincoln is impressive. A rare, wonderful example for display.
Otto J. Schneider (1875-1946), Painter, illustrator, and printmaker. Otto Schneider studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, Art Students League in New York, and Academie Julian in Paris.
Selected exhibitions include the Louisiana Purchase Expo, St. Louis World's Fair, 1904; Panama Pacific Exhibition, 1915; and the Art Institute of Chicago.
