GROVER CLEVELAND (1837-1908). 22nd and 24th President of the United States, the Only President of the United States to Serve Non-Consecutive Terms (1885-1889 and 1893-1897). JAMES BUCHANAN (1791-1868). 15th President of the United States from 1857-1861, serving immediately prior to the American Civil War, represented PA. in the US House of Representatives and later the Senate, then served as Minister to Russia under President Andrew Jackson, named Secretary of State under President James K. Polk, and is the last Former Secretary of State to serve as President of the United States.

Being an Official Appointment for, "Enoch Knight of Los Angeles, California, I do appoint him to be Receiver of Public Moneys at Los Angeles, California, vice George W. Bryant, deceased...". Folds, evenly toned.
2. Cut Signature, "James Buchanan" from a Document, no date, 4.5" x 1", Very Fine. Tiny edge split in left side selvage. Matted together with a lovely color image of President Buchanan in a nice display. (2 items).
