- Lot Description
Depicting a three masted polar exploration ship approaching an iceberg. Signed lower right. Framed H 16.75", W 24.75". Provenance: Property of a Macomb, MI private collector.
Condition
Canvas was not mounted to board because of damage. Rather, it appears that it was done to stabilize canvas edges over original stretcher. Retains what appears to be the original stretcher and liner. Period frame. Retains much of its original varnish over critical areas and there are no signs of overpaint when viewed under natural and UV light. | Please note all lots show signs of wear commensurate with age and use, and the lack of a statement regarding condition does not imply the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from defects or the effects of aging.
