Doel Reed (1895 - 1985)Unknown.1934Numbered 4/50 in pencil lower left and signed by the artist in pencil lower right alongside the artist's blind stamp, a second signature and date of 1934 are part of the etching and found in lower left corner of the plate. This appears to be the first recorded appearance of this image on the market or in any public collection. While similar aquatint etching studies of nudes by Doel Reed have been cataloged, no examples of this image could be found. We happily provide seamless in-house packing and shipping services on nearly everything we sell.
Good complete condition with issues related to age and framing. The full untrimmed sheet is complete with deckle edged margins, two brown tape tabs remain at the upper right and left corners, the paper is evenly toned overall and there is a mat burn.
We happily provide seamless, low-cost in-house shipping on nearly everything we sell. Handling and materials fees range $12 to $16.50 per box shipment for most items, depending on size, weight and or fragility. Items requiring construction of a crate will be charged at $17.50 per hour for labor plus the cost of materials. Items designated as over-sized by commercial carriers and those weighing more than 100 pounds may be best shipped by 'blanket wrap' carriers. We can provide rough shipping estimates for any lot at request.
