- Lot Description
This vintage 6 Pointed Star Quilt was started in the 1900s and finished later in the 1950s. It measures about 71 x 77 inches. The star is comprised of diamonds that are from the circa 1900s. It appears in the 1950s someone found the Radiating Star unit and pieced it against a 1950s small scale floral print. There is an 8.5 inch large-scale blue rose print border. It is machine and hand pieced, and hand quilted. There is a thin cotton batting and a large scale blue rose print and feedsack reverse. The edge is finished with an applied binding of the small scale floral print. It is in fair condition with several small spots and the orange marking lines for quilting are very distracting. Radiating 6 Pointed Stars are very rare, they are typically have 8 points. This quilt is part of the Estate of widely respected Sharon Stark of Sharon's Antiques Vintage Fabrics and Textiles of Eastern PA. She was an author and long time collector and dealer of antique quilts, fabrics and textiles. Sharon was THE authority on Feedsacks, and you may remember her Rickrack website. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $25 is a domestic shipping estimate for first lot and includes insurance. We will gladly combine multiple lots for your convenience and economy.
