We have several collections offered in this auction including additional quilts and feedsacks from the Estate of Sharon Stark, recently found quilts from the Estate of Bobbie Aug, a wonderful Bicentennial Quilt Collection, many published examples, and Quilts from the Estate of Judy Roche for the benefit of the AQSG 2025 Seminar in Maine! - Lot Description
Antique c1850 Feather Star Crib Quilt measuring 23 by 23 inches. This is most likely made in Mason County, Kentucky by Amanda Lankford Ryder and/or her mother, Susan Emily Saunders Lankford. This feathered star medallion style crib quilt has a Russian Sunflower or Sunburst in the center. The 4 corners have pink 8 pointed Star blocks. And the setting triangles are pieced pyramid partial blocks with Prussian blue fabric. The binding is a medium tan may have been a replacement. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and a white cotton reverse. Wonderful small scale piecing. There is some deterioration in the Turkey red fabric with yellow dots. Otherwise good condition. This quilt was previously part of the Jo Morten Collection. The proceeds for the sale of this quilt will benefit the American Quilt Study Group 2025 annual seminar in Portland Maine this year. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $15 is a domestic shipping estimate for first lot and includes insurance. We will gladly combine multiple lots for your convenience and economy.
