Condition/Comments: 18-3/4”w x 15-1/2”h. Here is one of the Holy Grails of Anheuser-Busch tray collectors: A magnificent factory scene of the St. Louis plant going full tilt. The detail in the scene is overwhelming to the point it is difficult to even count the number of buildings that make up the complex—let alone all the things that are going on: trains, factories, people, trolleys, horses and carts, smokestacks, wagons, and flags (we count 14 of them!) This tray represents the epitome of late 19th-Century industrial era brewing. This example is in really nice all original condition. The paint retains its original rich tones. The surface has dulled somewhat but not the intensity of the color. The rim exhibits most of the honest wear and aging but even those marks are slight: some scratches and minor oxidation, a bit of discoloration/patina, and the usual rim chipping. The face of the tray has only very minor issues, most of which are camouflaged by the busy visuals. A fantastic tray!
