Condition/Comments: 32”w x 36”h (framed). Anheuser-Busch obtained the rights to the name Budweiser in 1883. In addition, the lithographer Henderson-Achert-Krebs operated for just five years, between 1890-1895, thus marking this as a very early Budweiser piece. In addition to its early origins, it is strikingly beautiful and very rare. It has been professionally restored, with cuts (or repairs made) to the top and bottom right corners. There are also a number of creases and tears that have been repaired and repigmented, especially along the right edge. Another repair has been made to an area at the left end of the banner. The frame is not original. Additional close-up photos are available online at MoreanAuctions.com. Even despite these restorations, the piece is incredibly eye-catching and would surely be a highlight of any Anheuser-Busch collection.
