Information provided by the Artist: Walter Robinson fabricates narrative objects using text, eclectic materials, and appropriation, conflation, and dislocation, uncovering the messaging hidden beneath social, political, religious, and capitalist packaging. He has had solo exhibitions at Palo Alto Cultural Center, San Jose Museum of Art, Montalvo Arts Center, and has been in group exhibitions in the United States and abroad. His work is in the collections of MCA San Diego; Crocker Art Museum; Nevada Museum of Art; San Jose Museum of Art; and Sheldon Museum of Art, Nebraska. Since moving to New Mexico in 2014, Robinson’s work has been exhibited at 516 Arts, Albuquerque, the Center for Contemporary Art, and New Mexico Museum of Art. Robinson’s work has been reviewed in Artforum, ArtReview, Vanity Fair, Juxtapoz, and San Francisco Chronicle. He earned his MFA at Lone Mountain College, San Francisco.?His art is represented by Turner Carroll Gallery, Santa Fe; Robischon Gallery, Denver; and by Zid.
To pick up your artwork at the Crocker Art Museum, appointments will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for Sunday, June 9 and Monday, June 10.
