Information provided by the Artist: Contemporary landscape artist Mark Bowles was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area of Northern California. His passion for interpreting what he saw brought him to his studies at the College of Arts and Crafts located in Oakland, California. There, he completed his studies with honors with a limited stay at Institudio Allende in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. He paints with an intent to address the canvas directly, honestly, and boldly. By exploring color, composition, and the quality and attitude of a line, Bowles’ goal is to draw the viewer into his space and let them become involved in their own personal journey and discovery of the work. Bowles is currently represented in galleries in Palm Desert, San Francisco, Tucson, Telluride and Santa Fe. His work has also been acquired by the Crocker Museum, Phoenix Art Museum, Booth Western Art Museum, Denver Art Museum, Tucson Museum of Art, and The University of Arizona Museum of Art, Tucson.
