Information provided by the Artist: Mark Abildgaard received a B.A. degree in Art from San Francisco State University in 1979 and a M.F.A. degree in Art from the University of Hawaii in 1984. After graduating, he worked as an artist in residence at the Tokyo Glass Art Institute in Japan and at Sculpture Space in Utica, NY. In 1985, Abildgaard was awarded a five month fellowship at the Creative Glass Center of America in Millville New Jersey, and in 2015, he was awarded an individual artists grant from the Leff-Davis Fund for Visual Artists of the Sacramento Region Community Foundation. He was the Susan Cooley Gilliom Artist in Residence and Teaching Program recipient for 2022 at the Blue Line Arts Center in Roseville, California. Abildgaard’s sculptures have been included in the collections of the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York, the Oklahoma City Museum of Art in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the Oakland Museum of Art in Oakland, California, the Richmond Museum of Art in Richmond, Virginia, and the Crocker Museum in Sacramento, California.
To pick up your artwork at the Crocker Art Museum, appointments will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for Sunday, June 9 and Monday, June 10.
