Information provided by the Artist: Linda Mieko Allen’s works are ongoing investigations into concepts of place and displacement. Space, tensions, transitional states, and contradictions are key elements, and there is a dialogue between organic and geometric qualities within her hybrid works. Allen’s process is one of paint manipulation using a transfer method and drawing; mark making is important in her work. She configures natural and not-so-natural formations and deconstructs/constructs to invent new possibilities.
