Information provided by the Artist: Bharat Dodiya belongs to a small farming family in Junagadh (Saurashtra), Gujarat. He was born August 20, 1993, at Junagadh. He earned his BVA in painting (2015) and MVA in printmaking (2017) from Faculty of Fine Arts, MS University, Baroda. His detailed drawings with lyrical lines create repetitive patterns and depth. In 2016, his work entered the permanent collection of the China Printmaking Museum at Shenzhen, and recently his work entered the Mosa Museum of Sacred Art at Luxembourg, Belgium. He also has works in many personal collections. Dodiya has received many awards and scholarships including AIFACS award; New Delhi 2018; State Lalitkala akademi, Lucknow, UP, 2017; Gujarat state Lalitkala akademi, Ahmedabad, 2018; Prafulla Dahanukar Award, Mumbai, 2019; HRD Scholarship, New Delhi,2018; and Kanoria centre for Arts Fellowship, Ahmedabad, 2017-18.. His works are displayed in many galleries like National Gallery of Modern Art, Dhaka (Bangladesh) and Art Pilgrim Gallery (Gurgaon).
To pick up your artwork at the Crocker Art Museum, appointments will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for Sunday, June 9 and Monday, June 10.
