- Lot Description
Lot of 3 linen-backed maps of Belgium, Sheet 28, N.W. (Edition 6A), N.E. (edition 7A) and S.W. (edition 3B). Scale 1:20,000, 5 metre contour interval; 25 x 35.5 in. British Geographical services. The NW map has Ypres near the center; Ordnance Survey, July 1917. NE map corrected to Sept 14, 1917 (Ordnance Survey October 1917). S.W. Map has Ploegsteert near lower right; corrected to March 10, 1916 (Ordnance Survey 1916). Incredible networks of trenches over many miles, many of which are certainly forgotten today.
Provenance: The Alan Culpin Collection of World War I ArtNW with significant wear, folds beginning to separate. Others very good.Condition
