Teletype, 7 x 7.25 in.
Breaking news announcing the end of the war in Europe, which occurred on May 7, 1945. The bulletin reads:
REIMS, FRANCE--IT HAS BEEN OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED THAT THE WAR IN EUROPE IS OVER. / THE GERMANS HAVE SURRENDERED UNCONDITIONALLY TO THE AMERICANS, BRITISH, AND RUSSIANS AT 2:41 A.M. FRENCH TIME (8:41 P.M. EASTERN WAR TIME) SUNDAY. / THE SURRENDER TOOK PLACE AT A LITTLE RED SCHOOLHOUSE USED AS A HEADQUARTERS BY GENERAL EISENHOWER.
Reverse side with penciled notes from the National Broadcasting Company.
Condition
Toning of the paper and some folds. Pencil marking OK at top right corner, slight tear on the bottom left margin as well as some paper loss on the bottom right.
Good condition with some worn areas.
