Lot of 96 issues of the serial, Frank Reade with Frank Reade Jr., dating from October 31, 1902 - August 26, 1904 (Nos. 1 - 96 inclusive), featuring: Frank Reade, Jr's "White Cruiser" of the Clouds; Frank Reade, Jr's Submarine Boat "The Explorer;" Across Australia with Frank Reade, Jr., in His New Electric Car; and more.
Initially published in the 1870s as a dime novel series, Frank Reade was the first science fiction periodical and appealed to young boys. Luis P. Senarens (1865-1939), under the pseudonym "Noname," reinvigorated the series by centering its stories around the adventurer and inventor Frank Reade, and his son, Frank Jr. The father-son duo created fantastic machines that traveled across the world by land via electric cars or steam-powered vehicles, by air in airships of the dirigible-balloon and helicopter type, and by sea in submarines and other vessels.
Most are in very good condition with some toning of the paper and light wear. The color remains brilliant.
