WITH OBSERVATIONS UPON MATTERS OF FACT; TENDING TO CLEAR THE TEXTS OF THE SACRED SCRIPTURES, AND CONFUTE THE VULGAR ERRORS ABOUT THAT POINT. AND ALSO TWO SERMONS: ONE IN PROOF OF THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION; THE OTHER CONCERNING THE GOOD AND EVIL ANGELS. London: Printed for R. Knaplock and Midwinter, D., 1718. First Edition. xv,(v),270,(2). 5 by 8 inches in a modern fine binding of 1/2 leather and marbled boards with five raised bands and a gilt printed red leather label to the spine. John Greenleaf Whittier's copy, inscribed to him by Theodore Hild (?) on a preliminary blank page, "To John Greenleaf Whittier, with the sincere esteem of one who owes him much... 17-xii '86." With J.G. Whittier's autograph affixed to the pastedown - with engraved bookplate.

Condition

New fine binding -- contents Very Good and complete. Pages 263-266 have some ink underlines and a few manuscript notes to the margins.
