Cabinet card, lightly hand colored, credited to Winter & Pond, Juneau, Alaska, on mount recto and verso. Ink inscribed on verso, "Yours very truly / Frank R. Brook." Ca 1890s.
Wearing a thick fur hat and coat, an eager prospector stands for a studio portrait taken by noted frontier photographers, Winter & Pond, who documented the people and places of Alaska as well as those who ventured to the Klondike in search of gold during the late 19th century.
Condition
Image has lightened. With some light, scattered spots. Light corner and edgewear to mount.
