- Lot Description
.22 Short & Long, 18" barrel, no S/N. Blued finish, smooth, straight-gripped walnut stock with checkered Winchester buttplate and plain forend. Dovetailed notch rear sight and dovetailed blade front sight. The Model 99 Thumb Trigger was manufactured from 1904 to 1923. Winchester claimed that the thumb trigger was more accurate for many shooters. This is an early gun in .22 Short & Long. About 77,000 thumb trigger model rifles were made, a great number of which were exported to Australia, accounting for their scarcity today.
Good. Retains no finish with a mottled brownish-gray patina. Clear markings, mechanically functional, fair bore that is dirty and pitted. Stock with scattered bumps, dings and mars.Condition
