- Lot Description
.45-70 Blank, 14" barrel, no S/N. Blued finish, smooth, pistol-gripped walnut stock with rubber Winchester butt pad, and smooth walnut forend. Equipped with line throwing rod modification and line canister. In the 1950s Winchester supplied a limited number of .45-70 Blank shotguns to the Naval Company, of Doylestown, PA, for use as line throwing guns. Note: These guns are legal as long as they have the line canister attached. Otherwise, they are considered short-barrelled shotguns and subject to the NFA. This is a rare Winchester line-throwing shotgun that is missing from most collections.
Very good to fine. Retains most of the blued finish, with some fading and loss and some scattered freckles of surface oxidation. All markings crisp and clear, mechanically functional. Stock with nicks and dings and a couple of minor cracks at the tang.Condition
