- Lot Description
.351, 20" round barrel, S/N 383 (mfg. 1907). Blued finish. Deluxe, checkered, walnut pistol-gripped stock with hard rubber Winchester grip cap and hard rubber Winchester buttplate, checkered forend. Adjustable, tang mounted Lyman peep sight, dovetailed Lyman front sight with ivory colored bead, barrel mounted two-leaf sight.
Produced during the first full year of production for this model, the gun is accompanied by its factory letter that states it was received in the warehouse on January 15, 1907 and shipped the same day. The gun was returned on May 29, 1908 and was subsequently received in the warehouse on January 5, 1912 and shipped again on January 11, 1912. the letter confirms the sight configuration and notes that the gun is a "good shooter," suggesting that its initial trip from Winchester may have been as a factory demonstrator that was subsequently returned and sold.
**Requires C&R or FFLVery fine. Retains most of the blued finish with some thinning and wear, particularly on the receiver, which also shows a few minor surface scratches, and most of the finish loss along the top. Mechanically functional, very good bore. Stock crisp, with light handling marks.Condition
