- Lot Description
6mm Lee (.236 USN), 24" barrel, S/N 11670 (mfg. ca 1898), Blued finish, smooth pistol-gripped walnut stock with Winchester hard rubber grip cap and checkered metal buttplate. Smooth, finger-grooved Schnabel forend. Elevation adjustable Buckhorn rear sight and pinned blade front sight. Of the 20,186 Lee models produced, only about 1,700 Sporting Rifles were manufactured. The majority of the Lee models were muskets for the U.S. Navy. This Lee Straight Pull Sporting rifle is circa early 1898. It has the extractor which is often missing from the Lee, and is a very scarce sporting variant of Spanish American War era US military long arm.
Fine. Retains most of the blued finish, with the receiver thinning more than the barrel. All markings crisp and clear, mechanically functional, fine bore. Stock with nicks and dings.Condition
