Westhafer and Lambright Double-Handled Stoneware Jug
American (Ohio), mid-late 19th century. A saltglazed stoneware jug by Westhafer and Lambright having floral decoration in cobalt, marked on both front and back; ht. 18.5 in.Westhafer & Lambright was the result of a partnership between John Lambright and Eli Westhaver during the second half of the 19th century. A carpenter of sixteen years, Lambright began working in pottery in the 1860s in Newport, Ohio in Tuscawaras County. Westhafer was a successful general store owner who bought out the pottery of T.A. Packer which he later joined with Lambright.
