Twitchell, Ralph Emerson. THE LEADING FACTS OF NEW MEXICAN HISTORY. Cedar Rapids: The Torch Press, 1911 - 1912. 2 Volumes, 9 3/4 by 6 1/4 inches in original red cloth bindings with gilt titling to the spines. # 220 of 1500 produced, signed by the author at the limitation page in Volume I. (The work was eventually completed in 5 volumes.) Ralph E. Twitchell (1859-1925) was an American historian and at one time served as Mayor of Santa Fe. He also served as legal counsel to the Department of the Interior focusing on Native American and water rights cases.
Hinges are starting to loosen on this notoriously fragile binding; modest foxing to the preliminaries of Volume 2 which has a 5 inch closed tear in the margin of page xv. Some discoloration and handling wear to the bindings, otherwise Very Good condition.Condition
