American, early 20th century. A collection of pottery by Waylande Gregory, including five plates with phoenix motif with textured red matte ground and gold luster highlights, each signed in gold Waylande Gregory on verso, and a three-piece desk set for Dunhill including inkwell, blotter, and small bowl with patented composite glass glaze producing jeweled texture when pooled. Inkwell and bowl marked for Dunhill and Gregory, blotter and inkwell with Patent 2357399; (inkwell) ht. 1.5, dia. 5.75 in.
