- Lot Description
American, ca. 1870. A Victorian triple-back settee, having an elaborately carved and pierced central crest featuring leaves and scrolls, with upholstered backs on both end, padded armrests, and with front baluster legs ending in brass casters and cabriole back legs (ht. 41, wd. 67, dp. 28 in.); together with two matching upholstered footstools, each having turned legs with applied carvings on the underside of the seat (each ht. 15, wd. 18.5, dp. 18.5 in.).
Settee has a crack in each splat between cushions on back, and repair to right arm. Some stains on upholstery. Also surface wear typical of age and use, including scratches and dents in wood, and small repairs to cracks in wood. Each footstool has some repair to small cracks, applied carvings are a bit loose. Also a bit of mite damage and surface wear.Condition
