- Lot Description
American (West Virginia), ca 1870. A two-piece carved marble top sideboard in walnut by Frederick Schmeichel, the upper section having a carved and shaped cornice with central floral decoration, above an elaborately carved fruit decorated molded panel and beveled glass backing, having urn and fluted tapering supports, central beveled mirror flanked by two cabinets with hand carved chevron stiles and fleur-de-lis doors, the lower section having a shaped marble top surface with conforming case, over five aligned paneled drawers with Victorian brass pulls, above four carved and raised paneled doors with floral and fruit decorations; ht. 95, wd. 72, dp. 24.5 in.
Item is in good condition with little wear. Small amount of veneer loss.Condition
