- Lot Description
.45-70 caliber, 32.5" barrel, S/N 336001. Blued barrel with casehardened lock, sanded and refinished military stock. Blade front sight with Buffington pattern rear sight, slotted ramrod. Left side of barrel marked with VP and eagle proofs with additional inspector markings. Trapdoor marked with 1873 date, breech marked with serial number. No visible cartouche on stock.
Good. Some of the original bluing remains with a mottled blue and gray coloring on barrel. Trapdoor and breech have a dark gray color, with some trace case hardening visible. Markings are legible. Stock has some markings and dents from age. Bore is good; some darkening with light pitting. Rifling has visible but slightly worn lands.Condition
