American, 19th century. A University of Michigan class cane from 1878, the whole carved with signatures. A carving at the top reads In Memory of / U of Mi set within a banner. Signature at top is Henry W. Stecher, an 1878 graduate from the College of Pharmacy. Additional signatures include Albert C. Runkel / Law '79, Hugo Lupinski and R. Josenhans among others; lg. 34.5 in.
