.45-70 caliber, 22" barrel, S/N 341732. The barrel features a Buffington rear sight, and is marked with a VP over an eagle head, over a P. The breechblock is marked U.S. Model 1884. The lock is marked U.S. Springfield with an eagle motif. Walnut stock with single barrel band, saddle bar and ring and U.S. marked buttplate with full cleaning rod in the compartment.
The barrel shows some darker areas of blue, mostly fading to a gunmetal. The breechblock and lock have a faded blue patina, with some case colors still showing on the tang. The stock appears to have been cleaned. The bore and action are very good.
SHIPPING. At the request of the buyer, Cowan's will authorize the shipment of purchased items. Shipments usually occur within two weeks after payment has been received.
