- Lot Description
2x16 gauge & 8x57, 27" barrel group, S/N 14078. Blued finish, checkered walnut pistol-gripped stock with checkered wood butt, checkered forend. Matted rib barrel with flip up notch rear sight front sight blade with brass bead, as well as claw-mount scope base cuts. Adjustable double triggers. Right side of frame engraved: In Memory of Hollis E. May, Aviator, Sportsman & Shooter. Customized by B Kelly (stocker), P Duffill (engraver) and G Smith (barrels & boring), with a FWJ engraved monogram in the toe of the stock, formerly from the collection of the well-known, late gun writer, Frank James. Contained in a leather covered, compartmentalized travel case with a set of cleaning rods and some spare internal parts and springs.
*Requires FFLVery good as refinished and refurbished. Barrels with thinning blue. Shotgun bores bright and fine; rifle bore needs to be cleaned. Mechanically functional, stock fine and crisp. Case very good to fine.Condition
