SS Dagger from the Estate of Art Gerber, Tell City, Indiana
9" spearpoint blade, 14" overall length, 1.375" wide at ricasso. Blade marked with SS motto, reverse marked with RZM stamp, " M7/80 " indicating manufacture by the firm of Gustav C. Spitzer, with accompanying " RZM 1197/38SS " indicating a 1938 year of manufacture. Plated crossguard with interior marked " FB ". Wood grips with parteiadler and SS inserts. Plated pommel nut. Painted scabbard with plated fittings. Includes hanger and frog marked " ADRGM " over RZM stamp and " M5/8 " code.
Good overall. Blade is bright with a light coat of oil. Grip has typical dents and chips seen on SS daggers. Fittings have some flaking and oxidation. Scabbard shows some additional wear.Condition
