- Lot Description
** Springfield Model 1903 NM Rifle
.30-06 caliber, 24" star gauged barrel, S/N 1285183 . Parkerized finish with some parts blued, smooth walnut two-bolt "S" stock. Receiver marked in four lines above serial number: U.S. / SPRINGFIELD / ARMORY / MODEL 1903 . Boxed U.S.A. cartouche at wrist and script [circle]-P inspection behind triggerguard. Barrel marked S.A./[flaming bomb]/6-28 behind front sight. Blued triggerguard and magazine floor plate which is marked with [flaming bomb]/N.R.A. Bolt and extractor polished bright, receiver rails not polished. Grooved trigger, checkered buttplate with trapdoor for cleaning kit, which is present. Rear sight graduated to 2,850 yards and marked " 27 ". Front sight with protective hood. Retains both sling swivels and stacking swivel.
Fine. Retains much of the Parkerized finish on the barrel, with the small parts retaining much of their blued finish. All markings clear and crisp. Mechanically functional, very good bore with some light frosting. Stock crisp with light handling marks.Condition
