V/P/[eagle head] inspections and P proof at breech. Very weak script SWP / 1888 cartouche opposite lock and weak [circle]-P proof behind triggerguard. Correct " XC " marked Buffington rear sight, pinned front sight without hood, correct wrap-around sling swivel on upper band with sling swivel in toe. Sling bar and ring. 3-click tumbler, grooved trigger. No cleaning rods in butt trap. Comb rack numbered 52 / T . An interesting composite example of a scarce "Experimental Carbine" of which only 1,000 were produced.
