Lot Description

Sturges, Lee. SALMON FISHING ON CAIN RIVER NEW BRUNSWICK. (Chicago: Privately Printed), 1919. 9 3/4 by 7 inches in green blind-stamped and gilt printed paper over boards.Complete with 7 original etchings - the frontis etching pencil signed by Sturges. On the copyright page: "This is one of an edition of 50 copies of a book entitled "Salmon Fishing On Cain River" printed from type on handmade paper for the author, Lee Sturges, by Ralph Fletcher Seymour, Fine Arts Building, Chicago MCMXIX." Bruns 5328 -- states that all but 5 were destroyed in a fire. An example offered by New England Auction in 2008 sold for $8250.
