Lot of 20 cabinet cards dating from 1898-1900, featuring 17 photographs signed by notable naval officers, many serving during the Civil War, Indian Wars, Spanish American War, and early 20th century conflicts, including: Medal of Honor recipient, Richmond Pearson Hobson (1870-1937), by Feinberg, NY. Hobson was the only naval officer to receive the Medal of Honor for heroism during the Spanish American War; Stalee, NY view of Commodore Winfield Scott Schley (1839-1911), signed as Rear Admiral USN; Rear Admiral and geostrategist Alfred T. Mahan (1840-1914), by Notman Photo Co., Boston; Chickering, Boston view of Richard Wainwright (1849-1926), signed as Lt. Comdr. US Navy; John W. Phillip (1840-1900) twice signed as Captain US Navy, Texas, photo credited to Prince, NY and Washington, DC; John D. Long (1838-1915), appears to be signed as Secretary of Navy, by Purdy, Boston. Condition

Many are in very good condition, some have faded signatures.
