- Lot Description
the wood stem is plaited with red, yellow, purple, and green quillwork; red-dyed horse hair and purple, yellow, and red ribbons are further embellishments; a buffalo head is carved in high relief on the stem and is coated in blue pigment. The stem is accompanied by a T-shaped catlinite bowl which is decorated with concentric circles, length of stem 21 in.; overall length 27.75 in.
