- Lot Description
thread and sinew-sewn; with yoke beaded against a ground of light, greasy blue; nesting boxes and crosses are formed using apple red white-heart, greasy yellow, white, dark blue, and clear glass beads; translucent green and pale yellow basket beads hang from hide fringe along bust line; hem of dress embellished with beaded lanes, tin cones, and hide fringe, length 52 in. x chest 40 in.
late 19th centuryProvenance: Gustav (Gus) Sigel (1837-1923), a railroad worker in Montana, assembled the collection between 1880-1900. He moved from Montana to New York. The collection has been passed down through the family.
