- Lot Description
Late 19th-early 20th century. A group of twenty-eight silver tablewares, including:
two sterling footed frames for oval glass dishes, missing glass, each marked STERLING;
three Austrian 800 silver butter plates, marked in center;
one British sterling shell dish with London hallmarks;
two small British sterling dishes with felt on undersides, with Victorian hallmarks;
a set of twelve silverplated bread plates, unmarked;
one silverplated compote with putto on stem, marked on underside;
two smaller compotes, each unmarked;
three small dishes, including one ashtray and one footed dish shaped like a fish, each unmarked,and one silverplated plate, marked on underside;
two silverplated and wood wine coasters, one marked in center;
and one small bowl with spoon rest, probably silverplated, unmarked;
tall compote ht. 5.75, dia. 6.25 in.; total weighable silver wt. 3.245ozt (100.93g).
Repair to compote where stem meets base. Scratching, some loss to silver on plated items, and small dings/dents. Tarnish. Other wear consistent with age and use.Condition
