- Lot Description
American, ca 1825. A tall case clock, having a thirty hour, time and strike weight-driven wooden movement signed by Silas Hoadley (Plymouth, CT), the pine case with a scroll-cut crest and base, painted with circa 1884 decoration attributed to Uriah Dyer (1847-1927) of Warren, Maine. The Eastlake-style decoration includes four vignettes depicting coastal, lakeside, and western scenes; ht. 91.75, wd. 18, dp. 9.5 in.
Another tall clock with closely related decoration is signed by Dyer and is in the collection of the Art Institute of Chicago.
