Sheraton Eight-Tin Pie Safe with Two Drawers
American, 19th century. A Sheraton eight-tin pie safe in mixed woods, retaining an old, green-painted surface on the tins, having a rectangular, two-board top above double-paneled sides and two aligned dovetailed drawers, over two opposing double-paneled, punched-tin doors, opening to a two-shelf interior, all rising on tall, ring-turned legs ending in ball-and-spike feet; ht. 49, wd. 40.5, dp. 17.5 in.Condition
Surface wear and imperfections as would be expected with age and use. Scattered oxidation and corrosion to punched-tin panels with some small losses. Former pest damage. Left drawer with a veneer patch along lower edge. Some losses and a crack along door edges near center of case. Drawer pulls and right door catch probably replaced. Door knobs reset. Rear feet built up. Right door retains interior lock mechanism.
