Sheraton Blanket Chest with Two Drawers
American, 19th century. A Sheraton blanket chest in walnut with poplar secondary, having a hinged lid with a molded edge, above a conforming, paneled case with two aligned, dovetailed drawers, all rising on cylindrical feet; ht. 34.25, wd. 32.5, dp. 16.75 in.
Provenance: Purchased by the consignor from David Cotton in 1998.Condition
Some minor surface wear as would be expected with age and use, including some stains to lid. Lid with age split and a chip near left edge. Lock hasp broken on lid. Retains interior lock mechanisms. Interior of well with two later glue/support blocks on right corners. Corners of left side of well missing these blocks but with shadows.
