Derr above the painting and Veterinary Surgeon below, marked Eugene Berninghaus / Cincinnati, Ohio on the underside, another with a light brown horse in a pasture, the gilt inscription Grinnell above the painting, marked CFH / GDM on the bottom, one mug with a black horse and gilt inscription, and one mug with two horses running during a lighting storm, marked Koken Barber Suppy Co. on the underside, PLUS a provenance letter from Sophia Hosier to Anselm Frankel, dated May 31st, 1950; largest ht. 4, wd. 4.75 in.
