- Lot Description
Sharps New Model 1863 Carbine
.52 caliber, 22" barrel with single barrel, S/N C14040 . Blued and color case hardened finish, smooth walnut stock and forend. Standard Sharps lock, receiver and barrel markings, barrel marked NEW MODEL 1863. EAW sub-inspection on left of barrel at breech, no cartouche visible. Lawrence Patent leaf rear sight, block and blade front sight, sling bar and ring. Lawrence pellet primer system missing most of the moving parts.
Good. Retains no finish with an even brown patina, scattered surface oxidation and some light pitting. Most markings legible. Mechanically functional, good bore with scattered light to moderate pitting. Stock and forend lightly sanded with numerous handling marks and some added oil finish.Condition
