Sharps Model 1850 Rifle
.36 caliber, 25" octagonal barrel. Marked on the top of breech C. Sharps Patent 1848. Frame is grooved for sighting. Number "6" is under the forearm. Seven-groove rifling. Rear barrel sight is notched; blade front sight. Iron two-piece patchbox; with iron butt plate and nosecap. Walnut stock and forearm. Ramrod is a replacement.

Barrel is a gunmetal grey with sharp contours. Frame and lock are a gunmetal grey with some pitting on the top of frame by the hammer. All metal has been cleaned long ago with an even flow. Percussion nipple is worn down. Stock and forearm are excellent with some nicks and dings. Bore is excellent. A very fine example of a rare Sharps rifle.
