Melanderhielm, Daniel. Conspectus Prælectionum Academicarum Continens Fundamenta Astronomiæ Cum Figuris ære incisis. Holmiae Upsalae Aboae Sweder Upsaliæ Edman: 1799. In Latin. 7 1/2 by 5 inches in a contemporary 1/2 leather and speckled board covers. 320 pp.; this volume complete with 3 folding engraved plates. Astronomical foundational work of the Swedish physicist (1726-1810), who in 1797 secretary of the Konig. Swedish Academy of Sciences was appointed. Melanderhjelm worked primarily in the field of the mechanics of celestial bodies and in 1802 took part in an expedition to Lapland, which was the review of the meridian measurements of Maupertuis.
Internally clean and fresh; binding solid; with rubbing and wear to the joints, corners and edges. Leather spine with 5 raised bands, gilt printed leather label.Condition
